PPTP support
We now support the PPTP VPN protocol. Using this it is now easy to use our service on Android and iPhone / iPad.
Version 28 for Mac released
Version 28 for Mac is now available for download. It has several improvements, the most important of which is that is works in OS X Lion (10.7).
MacOS X Lion
MacOS X Lion (10.7) users can use the plain OpenVPN option while we are working on making the Mullvad client program available on Lion.
Easier to use plain OpenVPN
Downloadable configuration files and instructions make it easier to configure OpenVPN without the Mullvad software.
Version 26 released
Version 26 of the program is now available for download. French translation (thanks Jems). Latest OpenVPN. Even better behind firewalls (can fall back to TCP port 80).
Version 25 released
Version 25 of the program is now available for download. It has robustness improvements in order to be usable in difficult conditions, such as behind very restrictive firewalls.
Wikileaks accessible through Mullvad
The wikileaks.org domain has been taken down by their provider. Mullvad users and people using our public DNS can now reach it again.
Domain censorship countermeasures
This weekend the U.S. government hijacked over 70 domain names and redirected them to their own servers. As part of our ongoing struggle against censorship Mullvad users are no longer affected by this seizure. The domains work just like before the attack.
As a public service, we provide anyone on the internet access to our unpoisoned DNS server until other DNS server operators catch up. We also provide DNS server operators the configuration information required to easily follow our example.
Account hijacking protection
The new Firesheep software listens in on wireless networks and automatically hijacks accounts on Facebook, Twitter and other web services. Mullvad provides protection.
Version 24 released
Version 24 of the program is now available for download. The main new feature is the ability to use several ports.
Anonymization vulnerability in Windows fixed
It has been discovered that the IPv6 tunneling behaviour in Windows Vista and 7 can cause problems for anonymization. Users of Windows Vista or 7 should upgrade to version 23 which disables the IPv6 tunneling. It can also be disabled by hand.
Unlimited traffic volume
By popular request we now take the next step beyond the limit raise and get rid of the data transfer limits altogether.
Version 22 released
Version 22 of the program is now available for download. It improves error handling and investigation.
Version 21 for Windows released
Version 19 and 20 wouldn't start on some Windows systems (Runtime Error R6034). Version 21 solves that problem.
50 GB becomes 100 GB
The data traffic amount for each paid monthly period is increased to 100 GB. Existing remaining amounts are also doubled.
Version 20 released
Version 20 of the program is now available for download. The most significant new feature is the option Block the internet on connection failure. It is an easy way to protect anonymity by blocking access to the internet in case the connection to Mullvad is broken. The traffic destined for the tunnel will be blocked until Disconnect or Quit is selected from the menu or until the connection is reestablished.
